Image Print

Visbion Image Print is a software tool for integrating legacy software applications into the IPACS platform. Image Print installs as a printer driver on any Windows computer. When an application prints, Image Print grabs the output and formats it as a Dicom Secondary Capture object before forwarding it on to the Visbion Image Archive. This allows the integration of applications that do not have Dicom 3.0 capabilities into IPACS, including Optical Coherence Tomograhy devices in ophthalmology, ECG machines in cardiology, request cards in radiology, or even standard referral letters from Microsoft Word. Once Image Print has transmitted the output, the pages can be viewed side-by-side with the patient images in IPACS.

Visbion Image Print has a number of advanced features to allow simple and efficient integration within an existing infrastructure. Patient demographics can be retrieved using Dicom Modality Worklist, Dicom Query\Retrieve or custom SQL query. In addition, Image Print supports a variety of lossy and lossless compression algorithms to reduce the volume of data that needs to be transmitted and stored. Standard SSL encryption ensures that patient information is kept secure and confidential during transmission.

Benefits of Image Print

  • Integration of non-Dicom enabled software into PACS infrastructure
  • Support lossless and lossy compression for reduced network and storage requirements
  • Optional encryption ensures data security and confidentiality
  • Retrieve demographics using modality worklist, Dicom query or custom SQL query
