VPACS Connects Dual Sites for Liphook Equine Hospital
Visbion has recently installed the Visbion VPACS System at Liphook Equine Hospital.
Liphook Equine Hospital, one of the largest of its kind in the country, is based in Hampshire and has a branch practice in Newport, Isle of Wight. The Visbion VPACS solution is connected to the existing modalities – the CR system, MRI scanner, ultrasound and endoscopy in Liphook and the CR system at Isle of Wight.
Images from the CR system on Isle of Wight are sent to the Visbion Image Cube, where they are compressed, encrypted and sent to the main VPACS Server at Liphook. These images are then available for viewing at either site.
Visbion’s Image Web enables the vets and nursing staff to view images anywhere within either practice from any PC, laptop or Diagnostic Workstation. They can also call up images and records when off-site, using a laptop with web access.
Susan Northwood, Visbion’s Veterinary Consultant said “VPACS is a flexible solution which is ideal for connecting multiple sites. By using Visbion Image Cube’s leading edge technology, images can be securely transferred from Isle of Wight, whilst Image Web allows quick and easy access to patient images, either within the practices or whilst vets are out on visits, attending race meetings, or out of hours at home”.
Jane Boswell, a Partner at The Liphook Equine Hospital said “this VPACS system has made a big difference to the way in which we can access and archive images and records from any site, which will not only make things easier for the veterinary and nursing staff, but also be of benefit to our clients”.
